The Story

We have started an initiative to recycle jute. Plastics are very harmful to Earth. So with a vision of sustainable living, I have stepped forward to make a difference. I made a Jute lamp for myself and that's how JuteSome, an initiative. When we can light up our home in such an earthy and sustainable way why to run after costly plastic and metal lamps!

Also almost every day we get to hear news about jute Mills shutting down. Jute, the golden fibre! India is blessed with the treasure of Jute because of its climate. And closing of Jute Mills affect the economy of the country as well as the poor farmers who produce jute. Jute can be used more efficiently and effectively than the current of usage.

So my visions are:

- Making Jute products such as Lamps, bags, curtains and many other things.
- Find out and Employ people who are good at artworks but unable to get work due to lack of exposure. There are a lot of women who are potential

y expert in making beautiful artworks but they are not empowered.
- Nowadays a lot of furniture shopping is happening over the internet and this has taken a toll on the business of local carpenters. Since jute lamps need a wooden base it will help them to get work and also there will be a chance for them to show their craftsmanship.
- Recycle! Yes, I did make a beautiful light chain from empty toilet paper rolls along with burlap cuttings.
- Since the lamps are pocket-friendly there will be less wastage of money.
- We can raise awareness among young generation about recycling and of course the various usage of Jute. We can encourage them to use environment-friendly stuff for their daily life usage such as bags, pencil pouches, water bottle carrier etc.

Let's light up with Jute! Say yes to Jute! Let's try to minimise the usage of plastic materials and I believe one day we will definitely succeed! Let's try to empower less privileged people! Let's try to make our lives JuteSome! It's all about new dimensions and sustainability.
